This is me not stressing.

The painting is, obviously, not done. I haven't even worked on it in a couple of weeks. Sylvia said not to worry about it. (I'd still like to finish it as soon as I can, because I have other things that I want to work on!)

There are quite a few things that I would have liked to do before Christmas, that just didn't happen. I hit a point where I realized that they just weren't going to get done, and decided not to worry about it. Hopefully I'll be able to focus on spending time with my family, and taking care of the things that I can do. (I finally made an appointment for Andy's haircut!)

I'm not doing Christmas cards this year. I couldn't get a good picture, anyway.

We have a cute little tree that's up and decorated. We cleared up all the piles that had accumulated between the kitchen table and the bookshelf, so I can take pictures without an explosion of clutter in the background. (At least, non-Christmas clutter!) Kate and I made cookies and took them to some neighbors and visiting teachees. I have other projects that I will still work on, later. It's okay if they aren't done right now.

Not stressing is a good thing. Love, Mom

There are things that matter; there are things that don't matter. The latter can wait ... forever, if necessary. (Oh, I am so NOT good at following this advice!!!)

PS I got my Christmas card done ... but then forgot to post yours in time. Sorry about this ... but I suspect this is another thing that doesn't really matter either!

Good for you! My VT message last month was along those lines (using Pres. Uchtdorf's first talk in October's conference).

Dialing it back when we need to is healthy, and, yes, necessary.
