Gobble Gobble Cluck

Doug roasted a chicken for our Thanksgiving bird this year. Good size for our family, and everyone likes it--and it turned out really yummy! I made an apple pie (didn't get a picture).

Things have been a bit crazy, as I've been involved in a rather extensive painting project, but we had a nice little dinner and then I took the kids over to the playground for a while. It was chilly but we had a bit of sunshine, and there were a few other kids out getting their postprandial exercise.

That chicken is going to make some yummy soup.

Dragon Cartoons (by Kate!)

Just about every night, before bed, Kate draws while listening to an audiobook.  She's got a great confident line.  (I've never been very good at cartooning so this is fascinating to me.  She gets it from her dad!) She fills up pages and pages--too much to keep up with--but I picked out just a few to share here.  I love their expressiveness.  She does great things with eyes and mouths.

Kobayashi Park

I had never even heard of Kobayashi Park till this year. Jessica Beecher has been posting some great pictures from there, so I had to look it up.  It's pretty close to our new house.  Doug and the kids had Monday off for Veteran's Day, so we went to check it out.

"Take a picture of me being a nature dragon!"

(This amused me.)

I love the Asian details. Apparently this used to be a private house. The city bought the property in 2004, and they're still trying to figure out what to do with the building.

It's a gorgeous park! We'll have to go back in the summer (with water shoes!)

Scenes from a House

One month in the new house!
