Kate's haircut, mark 2

We got Kate's hair cut right before I went to Utah (mostly so Doug wouldn't have to deal with all the brushing trauma). It had been over a year since her first haircut, so it was getting pretty long again. Doug took her to Wild Child and she came home with this cute little braid.

I can't braid her hair for swimming and gymnastics anymore. She finished her first swimming lessons at the YMCA, and yesterday she started another session of gymnastics. Andy and I went along and had fun kicking balls around during Kate's class. In the drop-in zone I ran into some of the kids from my photography class, and some of the leaders who helped me out. That was kind of fun. (The photography class seems like a long time ago, already!)

  2. Her hair looks great! I bet it's a lot easier to brush out, too.

  3. Cute! Did she have a fit when it got done? I remember in Idaho you said something along the lines of how she needed a hair cut because she was throwing a fit when you were brushing it and she freaaaked out. I hope it wasn't It looks sooooo cuuuuuute.

  4. Completely unrelated to this post--I just read a bunch of RoseE's blog and found it really interesting (even though I didn't understand half of it since I'm not Mormon and don't have any personal knowledge of how missions work).

I have a question. How do missionaries learn foreign languages so well? Are they self-taught, taught in classes, given a certain number of hours per day they must study? Are they assigned to areas based on languages they speak or language-learning aptitude?

Sorry for all of the questions. I tried searching online but mostly found the Book of Mormon in foreign languages.

(I'm so sorry about the stupid image verification thing... I can't seem to get rid of it!)
